January is in full swing, and we at your Bay Area Chamber of Commerce are as busy as ever. Our President’s theme this year is a Season for Change, and our President this year is Allison Richards from the Coos Bay, North Bend Visitor & Convention Bureau. Allison is leading the charge of change this year and is very passionate about our area and its success going forward. We are excited to begin our annual planning this week with our board members and are well under way planning our annual Bay Area Chamber Banquet coming up on January 27th at the Mill Casino, tickets are available now online at oregonsbayarea.org and the DEADLINE to get your tickets is January 22nd. We will be honoring our Business and Citizens of the year, Chamber Member of the year, and the Community award and Prefontaine award. There will be live music and a wonderful dinner, you won’t want to miss it. The banquet is also a chance for us to honor those BACC board members stepping down and the new ones coming on board to continue the wonderful works of these volunteers who spend countless hours in the background ensuring the success of the Chamber as a whole. There are many chamber teams always coming together to help our area not just survive but THRIVE. Its amazing to see all the goings on inside your chamber, from the Legislative Action Team working to keep us in the know and supporting any legislation that needs support to help Coos Bay, North Bend and Charleston; to the Ambassador Team welcoming in new chamber members, showing support for them, and connecting them to others to help their businesses grow and network together through many events throughout the year, just to name a couple. Thank You Chamber for what you do, I am honored to join the team as your New Executive Director; and simply put I plan to dig in this year and see how I can help direct our paths to even better results. I look forward to working with you, come on down to the office, meet your new director and let’s talk about how your chamber can help you and your business today.
