OHSU Partnerships

Bay Area Hospital extends its outstanding care by partnering with Oregon Health & Science University on several exciting initiatives:

Telemedicine – Two-way digital video communication lets BAH doctors access OHSU’s specialized expertise in stroke care and pediatric critical care.

Surgical residency — Highly qualified surgical residents from OHSU gain practical experience working alongside Bay Area Hospital’s board-certified general surgeons.

Cancer care – Collaboration with OHSU’s Knight Cancer Institute gives patients the benefit of leading-edge therapies, including clinical trials.

Serving the Community

Bay Area Hospital is owned by Bay Area Health District and is governed by an elected board of directors. It is Oregon’s only district-owned hospital operating without local tax support. The hospital has more than 130 physicians on its medical staff, 1,000 employees, and 100 volunteers.  Its 144-bed capacity includes 124 private rooms.

In addition to providing excellent inpatient and outpatient care, Bay Area Hospital is a pivotal participant in broad-based community health initiatives.  The hospital sponsors free classes aimed at improving individuals’ lifestyle choices and health outcomes. Free screenings encourage early diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions.  The hospital manages the Kids’ Hope Center, caring for the needs of abused children. The Bay Area Hospital Community Foundation accepts charitable donations and bequests, with which it supports healthcare programs as well as a variety of community organizations.

The Immediate Care Clinic offers convenient and affordable patient care seven days per week. Our professional, caring providers are available to treat symptoms for patients of all ages that require immediate medical attention, but are not considered life-threatening.

Hours:
7:00 am to 7:00 pm – Monday through Friday
8:00 am to 4:00 pm – Saturday and Sunday

North Bend Medical Center is a 50-physician group practice clinic based in Coos Bay, Oregon. We are a medical cooperative that functions as a multi-specialty group. Five clinic locations and 15 specialties are represented within this group.
