The Chamber Minute 12/15/25

Chamber Minute – 33rd Economic Outlook Forum

The Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Banner Bank, was proud to host our
33rd Annual Economic Outlook Forum. Once again, the event was well attended by business leaders, partners,
and community stakeholders from across our region.

This year’s theme focused on Workforce & Trades, a timely and critical topic for our local economy.
A dynamic panel moderated by Ron Kutch of West Coast Contractors brought together industry and education
leaders, including Knife River, AYA, IBEW Local 932, Southwestern Oregon Community College, and
SoWIB.

The panel highlighted workforce programs, training pathways, and collaborative initiatives designed to strengthen skills
and support the future of our workforce.

The forum also featured informative economic updates from Damon Runberg with Business Oregon
and Guy Tauer from the Oregon Employment Department, providing valuable insight into where
Oregon stands economically—and underscoring the work that still needs to be done to make our state more business-friendly.

The message was clear: progress begins with education, understanding our challenges, and standing together to advocate for
positive change.

This impactful event is made possible thanks to our generous sponsors and the continued support of our Chamber members.
As a Chamber solely funded by membership, your investment allows us to advocate for business, support workforce development,
and bring meaningful programs like this to our region.

As we close out the year, we wish our community a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
And don’t forget—it’s time to nominate a Business or Citizen of the Year.
Nominations are now open at
oregonsbayarea.org
and are due by December 31st.

Creating a stronger tomorrow—together.
