BACC Monthly Report / Newsletter

Message from our 2018 President
Tom Burdett

Hello Chamber Members and Volunteers,
Welcome to August 2018! We are in cruise mode since the July Jubilee and our most recent Ribbon Cutting at Bon Appetit Catering & Event Center. I do hope you were able to attend.
This month provides all with another terrific opportunity to network with other chamber members by signing up and participating in the 10th Annual “Taking Care of Business” Bowling event on the 30th. Even if you don’t bowl, please make time to visit North Bend Lanes from 6-8pm and visit with those in attendance.
I have been fortunate in the last month to present the Chambers 6 month review to both Coos Bay’s and North Bend’s City Councils. What a review of accomplishments so far for ‘Our Chamber’. For we all know our mission; “Our Business Is Helping Your Business”.
With that said, your Chamber is having a Membership Blitz this month, where we will have a gathering of the Board of Directors, and more, and be visiting, you, the Chamber Members, to ‘Thank You’ and find out what more we can do to assist your business needs. For we have avenues that can do just that – our various committees. Any of which, you can participate in to facilitate more strength for your business and community.
Let me list them for you:
Ambassadors, Business Development and Support, Natural Resources, Legislative Action Team, Leadership Coos – your doorway to networking and area understanding., WBC Luncheons, Education, Tourism, Transportation, Membership Development and Events. Please find the complete information on page 15 of the 2018 Chamber Directory.  Join one of these teams and share your BOLD ideas within them for creating a solid  future for all of us.
If you do not get a special membership visit, please contact us and we will  stop by to chat with you.
I look forward to more continued positive weather, for our next adventure will be on September 22nd for the 5th Annual Golf Scramble at Bandon Crossings. Have you signed up your team? What another way to network and have FUN!
I hope your month of August will be FUN, Productive and will present the opportunity to “Connect with Community Cultures” C³. It is very easy when you engage with your  Chamber neighbors.

Best and Peace,
Tom Burdett

30th Annual Leadership Coos Class!
Leadership Coos is
designed to develop (not train) leaders and to provide a comprehensive, objective awareness of our community in action. The program has been developed with the goal of acquainting
participants with local aspects of the community-from city, state, county and federal government issues– via a series of topics, tours and speakers. One day per month for nine months (September through May) participants attend seminars, tours and briefings which expose
them to the issues and opportunities within our community and challenge them to become
involved in decision making in political and
community organizations that match their areas of interest. Sessions are led by selected leaders from both local and statewide fields that acquaint participants with a wide variety of subjects
including (but not limited to) local transportation issues, emergency services, communications, education, business and industry, health and
human services.Download BrochureHOW TO APPLY…
